Style Meets Substance : Andrews Carter’s Advocacy for Men’s Mental Well-being

Andrews Kennedy known as Andrews Carter, born in France with a rich Ghanaian heritage, encapsulates a unique blend of cultures that has shaped his worldview. Growing up, he absorbed the essence of his African roots, but it was living in France that exposed him to the expressive nature of the French people, instilling in him the confidence to make a statement through his style. French people are very expressive he said, if they don’t say it they will show it by the way they dress up and present themselves. So I always had that confidence of stepping out and making a statement for myself. Upon relocating to the United Kingdom, Andrews encountered a different cultural dynamic, where posh style and elegance influenced his fashion sense. Reflecting on this experience, he shares that blending in with the crowd became essential, adding a layer of sophistication to his evolving style.

Wearing multiple hats as a Co-Brand creator, PR Management professional, marketing executive, and a devoted husband, Andrews is not only a style icon but also an advocate for important societal issues, particularly men’s mental health. In a candid conversation, he emphasises the need for men to be taught how to become men, highlighting the struggles many face emotionally, physically, and financially. Andrews challenges the stigma around male vulnerability, asserting that genuine love can only flourish when men address their internal struggles. To love, men must study, listen, and pay attention to the women they pursue. Women submit to an Alpha Male, not to a man unable to lead or take charge. Therefore, we must address our own issues before pursuing what God has in store for us.

Asserting the force that men represent, not just physically but mentally as the next leaders in communities, he advocates for better management of mental health. Andrews urges men to overcome the societal notion of mental weakness and emphasises the importance of discipline, a value he believes has been somewhat lost due to the pursuit of equality. Reflecting on his own journey, I wish I knew what I know now 10 years ago, My life would have been different. Andrews expresses a desire for younger generations to focus on financial literacy, believing that the system often aims to make individuals uniform rather than encouraging them to excel, each one of us are talented to go above and beyond everything possible to be successful, he encourages everyone to express themselves fearlessly, breaking free from stereotypes and creating new narratives. Don’t be afraid to express yourself.

When it comes to fashion, Andrews’ philosophy revolves around self-awareness – “dress how you wanna be addressed.” He believes that one’s attire reflects their character, charisma, and the respect they command.Closing the conversation, Andrews draws inspiration from the “BY ANY Means” ideology of Malcolm X, emphasising the power of mindset and knowledge as formidable weapons. He urges individuals to break free from stereotypes, create a new narrative, and embrace positivity in every aspect of life. Andrews Carter stands not just as a fashion influencer but as a voice advocating for self-improvement, mental well-being, and positive change in society.
